EU Healthy Eating Campaign Roadshow visits schools in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick from 5th to

In order to address the importance of healthy eating the European Commission's Directorate General for Agriculture has launched a Healthy Eating Campaign entitled "The Tasty Bunch", which is currently visiting schools in Ireland.

Approximately 22 million children are overweight in the EU - 5 million of them obese.

"
The Tasty Bunch" healthy eating campaign aims to teach children about the importance of healthy eating and to give them the knowledge they need to improve their diet and develop a healthier lifestyle.  The campaign is supported by the tasty bunch characters, each of whom represents a different fruit, vegetable and or dairy product

The “Tasty bunch” characters are currently traveling through Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Cork, where they will visit  twenty primary schools to talk to the children about healthy eating and to “Eat well, because it’s fun to be fit”.

See http://ec.europa.eu/ireland/events/index_en.htm for details of the dates and schools to be visited in Ireland.
