Lisbon Treaty in force

On December 1st 2009, the Treaty  of Lisbon  came into effect.

01 December 2009

The Lisbon Treaty  came into effect having been ratified by all 27 EU Member States.  The Lisbon Treaty amends the EU Treaties and charts the way ahead for the European Union .
